Down with the House

Well, with all the construction of the new house, we got antsy and decided to demolish another. This house is Garthwait and it flooded and wasn't discovered for a month or so. It was stinky. Insurance wouldn't cover it, blah blah blah so we tore it down. Here are the pics of them demoing.Ripping off the bricks (above and below)
Smashing the roof and rooms.

I took all three kids over and they were a little nervous that they were going to do this to our new house. Then, once they knew that wasn't going to happen, Eon was really really excited every time any smashing occurred. He kept yelling at Isa to come watch and would shout and jump when something happened. What a boy.

Zoo Day

Well, in the 100 degree scorching heat, I decided to take the kids to the zoo. It was pretty fun actually. We only stayed an hour, which is what I expected. We looked at the monkeys then got on the tram and was able to ride around the rest of the zoo. We got back off at the penguins. We saw them, the fish, flamingos and then out the door. The kids loved it and were all beat red by the time we got back to the car. Of course there was a terrible break down when we got in the car and they saw the water (which we took with us and they had been drinking). Once liquified and air conditioned, they settled down so we went to a McD's with a play area. They just love those things and so do I. It is nice to let them play in the air conditioning!!! Here are some pictures of the day!

Water Play

Today I worked on the garden and set up the kids play set outside. The water set was a gift from a grandma a couple years ago and I just wanted to let you know that it is still in use. I was able to get a couple shots of the kids playing in it. They of course had a blast and didn't want to come inside when it was time, but oh well, no fits at least. The older two were all game for the event, but Syd wouldn't have any of it. She kept saying no and walking away. Isa put her in once and that started a crying fit. She dried off and went inside putting on the face you see below. Oh well, 2 out of 3 happy ain't bad, right???

We were in a wreck!

Well, on the way home from Lawrence from our vacation, we ended up getting rear ended by another vehicle on the interstate. We were slowing to a stop and she hit us from behind. Luckily, there wasn't really much damage to the car. We were able to drive away and there wasn't really too much damage done to the vehicle or us. Really just the rear bumper needs to be replaced and that is about it.

Now, on to some good stuff. I was able to snag some pictures of the new house and here is what I have. The basement living room for the residents is the first picture. All that is left is to carpet this room and this room is complete.

Here is the tile color in the house. There will be a lot of tile in the house. Much much more than I ever expected.
Here is a picture of the kitchen/dining room. Every where the floor is black will be that tile in the previous picture. There is a lot of space and I just realized the light fixtures. I didn't even notice them when I was in the house! Here is a picture of the outside for now. I am sure it will be greened up after about a month! Move in day is July 2nd we believe, but really, we will just be moving in some of our stuff, but not actually sleeping there until around the 9th (our week off). Then we will spend all week putting stuff away! YIPPEE!!!!

Zoo

Today, we went to the zoo in Kansas City, MO. It was a lot of walking and seemed like a long day, even though it wasn't. Leann and I actually were not as impressed with it as we are with the Wichita zoo. It seemed like there were not nearly as many animals and there was a lot more walking that we had to do. It was still fun, and I may get some pics posted later this week. I wouldn't hold your breath though because the big move is coming, so our lives are about to get crazy!!! :) We'll keep you posted!

Smile :)

We have been taking pics of the kids but haven't been posting many because of the Italy stuff and we have been pretty busy lately. We have had 3 intakes in a month here at work and that means a lot of time explaining things and getting things set up with the new residents. Mostly it has been good. Leann and I are getting really anxious to move though, and unfortunately, it is hard to stay focused with our girls right now because we will only be with them for about 3 more weeks. We should be moving around July 1. We are really excited about the house becuase it will offer a lot of normalicy for our children, which we are glad for.

Anyways, we know that we have not been too good posting stuff, so I thought I would butter you all up so you will forgive us. Here are some great pictures of our little one learning to smile on cue. Hope you enjoy.
