Losing a first tooth

After a day and a half of drama the first tooth is gone.  Ryan kept getting him to wiggle it 10 times, or wiggle until it cracks one loud time, etc.  Gideon cried a lot b/c he was scared but we kept asking if it was hurting and he'd say no.  he wanted it out, but was scared of it happening.

Not that you can tell but that tooth is gone.  he grew a shark tooth just like Isabelle did.  It was half way grown before he told us it was there!  he'd just been to the dentist the month before so that tooth snuck in quickly.

At one point, Ryan told him to just pull it out and Gideon said he couldn't because he was afraid he would burp.  Ryan told him if he pulled it out he would be allowed to burp and not get in trouble.  Gideon asked if he could burp loudly.  Yes.  With my mouth open?!  Yes!  He still didn't pull it out, but he sure gave it a good try after that conversation!

Lost tooth.  Daddy was the one in the end who got the honors.  In the morning when I woke him for school he looked at me and jumped up to look under his pillow and almost cried when there was nothing there.  I told him to check the floor b/c he probably knocked it off.  Then he started to cry b/c his tooth was in the bag as he'd requested from the tooth fairy (to show his friends at school) but no money.  I told him to check the floor again b/c it WAS there.  He picked up his dollar and smiled a little, then sighed and said he'd been hoping for a $5.  Seriously?!  I told him I'd start ripping my own teeth out for 5's

Isa's birthday party

we had a few girls over that weekend to have a play time birthday party.  If you notice the cake is a little bit different.  Well, Ryan had made some cotton candy at church to bring home for the birthday party.  we MAY have eaten the bottom of her cake the day before, after all it WAS after her birthdaym so I filled in the bottome of the pan with cotton candy.  Isabelle loved it and the girls were none the wiser =)  sneaky me!  Besides, a unicorn on pink clouds makes sense right?

Isa turns 8

Thank you to everyone who showered our daughter with money cards for her birthday.  She made $36!  she did chose something to buy with the money, the snorkel set I mentioned in an earlier post, but she wants to put the rest into her bank account.  That's my little saver!  =)

She got a unicorn dream lite, which she really wanted!  I gave her a music box, snow globe that I got for my 16th birthday from my parents.  It plays "The Rose" and it's beautiful.  I knew she would like it.  Now her nighttime routine is winding up her music box and turning on her dream lite each night before she crawls into bed.
This was her main present, which she didn't ask for, but when her knees were practically rubbing her stomach on her old bike, we knew it was time.
Cousin Alyssa had given her a couple of stuffed animal unicorns for her birthday, so she promptly put those in the little bag on the front to take them for a ride.

Isa helped me make her birthday cake, chocolate sheet cake, then I drew on a unicorn for her.  Of course then my sophisticated cake was changed as soon as she wanted to help decorate.  she chose to open a fun dip and pour it on the corners and draw a heart on the bottom.  Well, I suppose an 8 year old will love that!
Then from the best pen pal ever, miss Violet Kronewitter!  she sent a cute little shoe that she drew a heart on, which isabelle promptly clipped onto her backpack for school.  Also a cool oregon pen that has the boat on the top that floate when you tilt it.  And what party is complete without Hello Kitty stickers!

out door fun

Our neighbors had several people living therem including the oldest daughter's family, with a couple of children.  They were moving out the other weekend, and they GAVE us this totally cool electric jeep for the kids!
We were shocked, but of course took it, when he convinced us he would just throw it out or give it to someone else, as they didn't have room to take it.  THANK YOU NEIGHBORS!
 The kids love riding it
gideon is always trying to get someone to play ball with him, no matter what kind of ball it is.  Usually it ends up being ryan or I because the girls are content to ride bikes, blow bubbles, or draw with sidewalk chalk.
ooops, daddy got caught sitting down
Sydney has this jumper/romper outfit that i LOVE and I had to put a picture up of it
This was Gideon's invention, which I find rather brilliant.  Trampoline basketball.  Olympic sport anyone?!

gideon the helper

Every once in a while ryan gets a wild hair to do some organizing, so when he decided we needed to go through Gideon's clothes, he was right there to help.
do not be fooled, he was not joyful throughout the entire process
He also wanted to help cook some this summer.  He did top ramen all by himself, with just me watching
Notice the kid scissors to open the bag =)  after he was done he declared he was like a "jedi chef!"
